Most doors have a small type plate on which you’ll find the correct designation from the manufacturer. In most cases, this has all the relevant data.

You can also usually upgrade an old swing door with a garage door opener. If the door becomes hard to open over time, the problem usually lies elsewhere. Normally, garage doors have balanced weight. This means: The door’s weight is borne by door springs (balanced), so that it’s easy to open and close. If opening and closing gets harder with time, the old springs may have to be retightened or replaced. For this, it is best to go first to a professional dealer.
